Hello!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. The weather here on the Oregon coast is absolutely gorgeous today. I’m planning on taking my dog for a long walk in the sunshine later today.
I’ve just got a few updates to share. First, I’ve been continuing to add information and adjust the settings on my new Word Press author blog. Yesterday, I spent some time scanning newspaper clippings related to my books and past speaking engagements. I’ve added the newspaper clippings to the “Book Buzz” page.
It’s been a few years since “Shipwrecks of Coos County” was published. It was fun for me to re-read the newspaper articles about the book’s release. It brought back some great memories. The book was my first to be published by a traditional publisher. I’m so proud of how the book turned out. I put a lot of work into it. And, I love that it helps highlight some of our local history.
There have been numerous books about west coast shipwrecks written in the past, but most of them overlook Coos County. Usually, the focus was on the larger ports– like San Francisco and Portland. My book shined a light on the ports of Coos Bay and Bandon.
This area has a rich maritime history. I’m so proud of my book and the way that it helps preserve this history and share it with others.
Well, the sunshine is beckoning me. I have one more quick update before I go. Don’t forget about the promotion that I’m running in my Etsy shop. From now until August 31, 2016, you can save 20% off of your order when you use the coupon code “SUMMERFUN20.” There are no minimum purchase amounts and the discount does not apply to shipping costs. (Coupon code must be entered during checkout to receive the discount).
This discount applies to both my handmade crafts and my books. Please, feel free to take advantage of it!
Have a great week!
